Ottawa = Owned

"And that is how we beat the Senators into submission"

Pens win. Fleury gets the shutout. Roberts the hockey god scores 2 goals, meaning 14 of his 32 playoff goals (ALMOST HALF!) are against the Senators.

Here's this for another stat: In 11 playoff seasons, they have been SHUTOUT FIVE TIMES in the series opener. How sickening is THAT?

Eugene Melnyk = stunned. Roberts was the only player he had ever wanted to get.

One down, fifteen to go.

GO PENS

Gary Roberts was a bad mutha *shut yo mouth!* tonight.

I hope you got to see all of those white towels being waved. Wasn't that cool?

haha yep I saw the white towels, the standing ovations, the "Cryin Bryan" sign, the stunned Senators...it was a great night.

I'm happy Gary Roberts arranged for CBC to carry the game for you Ash haha!
What a great game!

haha yeah I'm thrilled that the game is on CBC and not TSN so I don't have to fight for a TV in the lounge. I can't wait for tomorrow night's game!

Tonight is Montreal/Boston and San Jose/Calgary, but I have an exam tomorrow, so I guess that's out of the question.. :(

My favorite was Bryan Murray's post-game quote which was something like "that didn't seem like a 4-0 game" trying to say his team played better than the score indicated.

The man's clearly grasping for straws now.

Is he cryin' that his team played better than everyone is giving them credit for?

Living up to his 'Cryin Bryan' nickname...

MAF with a playoff shutout? Now I've seen everything!

Ottawa has not scored in a Game 1 FIVE TIMES? Wow, that's quite an accomplishment.

jeff - What surprised us more than MAF's shutout was Ryan Whitney's fight. Whit's not exactly known for his physical play at the best of times (and things have been pretty bad lately).

Someone pass Cryin Bryan a box of kleenex...

I was sooooo proud of Whitney!
