Question: I know this has nothing to do with the pic, although it is kinda funny, I was just wondering if you are 100% sure that the Islanders are coming back to Moncton in September? I've heard from a few people that say they are, but at the same time some people don't know. I just keep thinking that if they are coming back, there should be a game booked in Moncton by now...lol. It's killing me having to wait to find out.
I had heard that the Isles had signed a 3 year deal with the city to have their training camp in Moncton, and last year was year 1. I think the delays with announcing the game(s) may be because of the other team(s). Perhaps they haven't been able to confirm anything with other teams.
And remember, it is still April. My guess is that we'll hear something in the next few weeks.
Yeah, that's the same thing that I had heard as well. And I was thinking the same thing...but usually they are announced by now. I honestly don't care who they play, I just want a game! lol. Be sure to keep your ears open though...I want to make sure I get tickets when they go on sale so that I can get a good seat...preferably behind the bench! I might have to sell them if I land an internship that will allow me to cover the game though.
How sweet would that be, to get an internship that would let you cover the game and interview the players?
But yeah, I'm definitely keeping my ears open. I think they'll want to bring a team to Moncton that has a lot of fans already here (Boston, Montreal, Toronto, etc) to make sure that they get a lot of interest. I'm not sure how much interest there would be in a NYI/Florida game haha.
That being said, I don't care who the other team is...I just want to see a game and to have a lot of NHL players actually playing, not just a bunch of players trying out for the teams.
Yeah, that's true. Last year, NYI played all their big NHLers, but Montreal didn't play many of their biggies, so I was disappointed. I really wanted to see Koivu play...lol. Unforunately, that's something we won't know until actual game time tho! :(
